2009 Maynard Country Club – Club Championships

Please Read this information before playing a qualifying round

Qualifying Period: Saturday May 16, through Sunday June, 21

Championship Day = Saturday August 8 (Rain Date August 9)

Both Men & Women will have multiple Championship flights to choose from as follows based on USGA Handicaps noted to the right of each flight:

Women:

Championship 20 or Less
A Flight - 21 and up
Senior Ladies - Open to all female members 55 and older.

Men:

Championship 9 or Less
A Flight - 10-15
B Flight - 16-20
C Flight - 21 and up

You may qualify for the flight in which your handicap falls, or you can qualify in a higher flight if you so choose. Each member may only attempt to qualify once regardless of the flight chosen.

All flights in both Men’s & Women’s Qualifying play will require two eighteen hole qualifying scores. Each eighteen hole round must be completed on the day it was started. All qualifying rounds must include one nine hole round to be played from each set of tees as they correspond to your gender. (Men - White & Blue. Women - Red & Yellow)

Senior women will be required to post two 9-hole qualifying rounds both to be played from the red tees.

The Championship Entry Fee is $20.00 per player, and must be paid prior to playing your first qualifying round. Before playing each of your qualifying rounds you must declare to your playing partners that you are playing a qualifying round.

Upon completion of each qualifying round, clearly PRINT on the score card: the flight you are qualifying in, your name, gross score, and date. Sign your card, and have one other player validate the card by signing it as well. Place the score card in an envelope and place it in the box marked Club Championship Qualifying. Any incomplete score card could disqualify you from the championship tournament. Entry fees are to be paid to the pro shop and noted in the Club Championship sign up book.

All Members completing two rounds as described above will be seeded in the Championship Tournament based on those scores.

Club Championship Important Dates

Qualifying Rounds – Two rounds:

Qualifying Begins May 16 ---- Ends June 21

Championship Matches by Flight (Schedule will be adjusted for any particular flight if there is a need for three rounds.

Round 1 completed by July 12
Round 2 completed by August 3

Championship Day Saturday August 8, 2008

Men’s Championship Flight Format – Final Four Players – 36 hole stroke play final.
All other Flights to be 18 holes contested under the rules of match play.

Any rules disputes, and or scheduling conflicts must be brought to the attention of the Golf Committee, and will be resolved by the Golf Committee as quickly as possible. All Championship play is to be played under the most recent rules of golf, as issued by the USGA. All rulings in match play are to be resolved among the competitors, if no resolution can be reached on a particular decision The Golf Committee will serve as arbiter of said disputed rulings.
